Our Story

Food Corner Kabob was started by the owners Najib Sidiqi and Abdulfatah Abbasi. The first branch of Food Corner was established in Annandale, VA, an area populated with a diverse community from all areas of the globe. Najib and Abdul put their Afghani homestyle recipes to work in their kitchen and founded an original and authentic Afghani cuisine. This restaurant is not only popular to local Afghans, but to all who enjoy a great flavored and very well portioned meal at great price.

Najib's background with kabobs began as a personal hobby back in Kabul Afghanistan. When asking Najib about his background with kabob he stated "Kabob has always been my hobby. Since my teenage years I would love to host weekend parties and celebrations with kabob. As I grew up I have continued to enjoy cooking kabob and maintaining Afghani homestyle taste." Being a hobbiest chef has given Najib more than 30 years of experience cooking kabobs before his venture in the food service industry. As business progressed and the food became a great success, Najib passed along his work and knowledge to his sons and continued to expand his venture to introduce great food to Northern Virginia.

Najib and Abdul opened two more locations leaving their first Annandale restaurant to Najib's sons Omar and Massi Sidiqi to manage. Since the restaurant first opened in 1997, they have been involved in the restaurant's operation with their father managing them. Now Massi and Omar have over 7 years of expierience with kabobs and the food service industry.

To date, Najib and Abdul have expanded to five locations in Northern Virginia and Washington DC

Fast delivery, salad was extremely fresh, flavourful food, extremely generous portions for the prices, bread was crispy outside and soft and light inside, baklava was gorgeous. Would definitely recommend trying this place.

Love this restaurant! Manager extra nice and welcoming. I had chicken kabobs with chick peas and spinach with the salad in the side... BOMB! I just stopped here to try it out for the first time yesterday and I'm back again today!


The food was spectacular. My favorite kabob place! Service was great. The lamb kabob was juicy and everything was well flavored. The naan was very doughy and thick, not unpleasant, but also not like typical naan. Will return!

Solid kabobs and even better sides. The chickpeas and the cauliflower are the best. Aside from the food the reason to come here is the service. The father and son team that run this place are amazing. Good people and good food.

I love this kabob place. Very easy going staff and the food is phenomenal. Expect to wait during lunchtime. Protip: the special sauce that comes in a bottle is not found at every table, so hunt it down first before dining in!
